NODIA × THE WATER
The best fishing stories
shouldn’t end at the ramp.
For anglers who know the value of a quiet signal—and the difficulty of finding your people beyond a crowded feed.
THE ANGLER’S QUESTION
Why would someone who fishes need a ring?
Because “nearby” is not enough. The right fishing partner also matches your species, water, pace, start time and idea of a good day—whether that means a dawn bass launch, a quiet fly session or teaching someone their first knot.
Nodia is being designed as a quiet bridge between the place you are and compatible anglers around it: the app supplies context, the ring supplies a discreet cue, and you choose whether to answer. No endless feed, and no need to publish a hard-earned spot.
This is an intended product experience, not a promise that matching or nearby users are currently available.
INTENDED EXPERIENCE
From a message to a real fishing connection.
Within the distance you allow, the app is intended to surface people who share your fishing interests—even if you are the only ring wearer nearby.
Design goal: location-based and interest-based discovery requires permission, connectivity, sufficient app participation and a compatible phone. A match is never guaranteed.
ONE RING CAN STILL OPEN THE APP COMMUNITY
Remote doesn’t have to mean disconnected.
If another angler uses the Nodia app but not the ring, the intended experience can still begin in the app. When a new message arrives, the ring is designed to vibrate; open the app to see the context and decide whether to reply.
Product design goal; availability, range and notification behavior remain subject to final app and hardware validation.
FISH YOUR WAY
What kind of connection would help today?
“Anyone fishing the evening tide from shore?”
The app provides context. The ring is the discreet prompt to look.COMPATIBILITY BEFORE PROXIMITY
Find an angler you would actually fish with.
A useful match starts with the details anglers care about—not a generic “outdoors” label.
Hard-charging dawn start, relaxed family session, mentor or learner.
Open seat, launch time, distance, cost split and whether plans are firm.
Choose a radius and conversation without posting exact coordinates publicly.
These are product-design priorities for the Nodia app; final filters and privacy controls remain subject to release validation.
ON-WATER CONTEXT
The quiet moments before a good day.
Gear ready. Expectations clear. A discreet cue when the right conversation arrives.
THE RING IS THE QUIET PART
A subtle prompt. The useful details stay in the app.
Product concept footage—not a demonstration of final fishing, water-resistance or matching features.
WATER, WEAR & REAL-WORLD USE
A fishing ring has to answer harder questions.
Final water-resistance and abrasion ratings have not been published. Until validated, treat Nodia as splash-conscious—not as dive gear. Avoid immersion, swimming, saltwater soaking and pressurized rinsing; wipe it dry after spray or rain.
Ceramic, titanium and polished surfaces still benefit from care. Grit, sand, hooks, rocks and metal tools can mark a finish. Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaning.

FAQ FOR ANGLERS
Before it goes in the tackle bag.
Can I wear it in rain or around splashes?+
Use conservative care until a final rating is published: brief incidental splashes are different from immersion. Avoid swimming, wading with submerged hands, saltwater soaking and high-pressure rinsing; dry the ring promptly.
Is it scratch-proof?+
No scratch-proof claim is made. Sand, rock, hooks, boat hardware and tools are abrasive. Store it separately and clean only with a soft cloth.
What if nobody nearby owns a Nodia Ring?+
The intended community includes app users. The product goal is that one ring wearer can still discover compatible nearby app users through permission-based location and fishing interests. Participation and matches are not guaranteed.
What does the vibration mean?+
In the intended experience, it can be a private cue that the app has a new relevant message. The app—not the vibration alone—provides the sender, context and controls.
Should I wear it while casting or handling fish?+
Only when it does not interfere. Remove it whenever line, hooks, gloves, fish handling, rope, anchors, tools or machinery create snag, contamination, crush or injury risk.
Does Nodia share my exact location?
The design intent is permission-based discovery with user-controlled distance and private identity until a connection is chosen. Final privacy controls and policies must be reviewed in the released app.
